The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) in partnership with the University of Hong Kong and Georgetown University created the Asia Institute for Political Economy to provide young scholars with a rich experience gained by both academic and cross-cultural exchange. Hong Kong is the perfect backdrop for this annual academic undertaking because it is an international center for finance and trade and a hub for vibrant culture interaction. Hong Kong offers a unique window of opportunity for international and multicultural learning experiences.
The Institute’s interdisciplinary curriculum engages students in a thorough examination of the fundamental concept theories of political economy, as well as an advanced course in American studies. Discussing and class participation are encourage by the professor.The Asia Institue for Political Economy (AIPE) offers a dynamic and unique opportunity to study with students from all over Asia and the United States. As an international center for finance and trade, Hong Kong is the perfect setting to bring students together to critically analyze the economic and social benefits of open economies and societies.
This Summer AIPE will be held from July 13 – August 4, 2007.For more information about the AIPE Institute, potential applicants can visit us on the internet at www.tfasinternational.org. This is your opportunity to help a student experience one of the premier programs for future leaders.The admissions deadline for students from the People’s Republic of China is January 31, 2007. For all other students, we employ a rolling basis for admission decisions and students are encouraged to apply before the early admissions deadline of January 31, 2007 and the final deadline is March 15, 2007.
